Development in the city limits of Seneca, and within a 3-mile radius, is guided by the Seneca Zoning Ordinance to ensure orderly growth and development. Administering this process takes a group of dedicated citizens who volunteer their time to benefit the City of Seneca and its residents.
The Planning Commission meets regularly on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. to review applications for rezoning of properties, review preliminary plats, approve final plats, and ultimately make recommendations to the City Council in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan. Currently serving as Council approved Planning Commissioners are:
Galen Niehues, Chairman
Tami Haverkamp, City Administrator, also serves as the Development Administrator. The Development Administrator issues building, demolition, and sign permits as well as administrative duties pertaining to Seneca’s Zoning Ordinance. Brian Rusche serves as Assistant Development Administrator.
