Community Storm Shelter

A tornado shelter is available to the public in the basement of City Hall, 531 Main Street, when weather is threatening.  The entrance is located in the middle of the open hallway across from the Men’s Restroom.  If you feel the need to take shelter and it is not already unlocked, call Dispatch at (785)336-2141, and a Law Enforcement Officer will assist you.

Power Outages or Water Problems

To report a power outage, water main break or sewer emergency, call City Hall at (785)336-2747 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or contact Dispatch after hours at (785)336-2141.  There are two employees on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
